Music of Three Centuries

The Metropolitan Orchestra of NJ opens its 2022-23 season with it fall concert featuring major works of three centuries:  Mozarts’ Overture to Don Giovanni (composed 1788); Dvořák‘s beloved Ninth Symphony (composed 1893); and Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite 1 (composed 1917).

Founded in 1972, MONJ enters it 50th year having featured such major names in the classical music realm as Conductor Gerard Schwartz and soloists Arnold Steinhardt, Michael Tree and Joseph Kalichstein.  With the recent retirement of Maestro Michael Stratechuk, MONJ is delighted that Fawn Giovannetti will lead this ambitious musical undertaking.  Maestro Giovannetti’s impressive resume includes that she has taught or conducted throughout Bergen and Rockland counties as well as pre-college divisions at Brooklyn College and Manhattan School of Music.

The event is free.  Free will donations are accepted and encouraged.
